Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a civil rights statute that provides protection for discrimination for individuals with disabilities.  Under this statute, all school districts receiving federal financial assistance must provide appropriate educational services designed to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities to the same extent that the needs of students without disabilities are met.  Questions regarding Section 504 should be directed to Mrs. Alex Kenealy, 504 coordinator.
